Recording & Studio Engineering in Sydney and beyond
From vocals and single instrument overdub sessions to full band, strings and large ensemble sessions, Adrian captures performances that sound true to the performance, and showcase everyone at their best.
Get Your Sound Captured the Right Way
Based in Sydney but available to travel, Adrian’s recording experience includes not just the usual drums, guitars and vocalists, but string sections, big bands, and anything else you can put a mic in front of.
Over the past twenty years, he’s worked in many studios in the UK, Europe and Australia, engineering for both his own projects and for other producers. During this time he has developed a reputation as someone who gets the sound captured in the most appropriate way with the minimum of fuss – to allow the performances to shine, and the session to flow.
Producers that Adrian has engineered for in recent years include Khaled Rohaim (the Kid LAROI), DNA (Ricky Martin/Delta Goodrem), Jesse F. Keeler (Johnny Hunter) and Guy Simpson (“Dream Lover”/“Muriel’s Wedding” musicals), and in 2013 he was Grammy-nominated for recording Alicia Keys on Pharrell’s “G I R L” album.
Whether it’s a full band tracking live, layering guitars, or getting the perfect vocal, the goal is always the same, performances that feel true and recordings that hold up anywhere.

Does Adrian provide studio space in Sydney?
Adrian has a good relationship with many professional Sydney studios and can book the most appropriate space for your needs. Alternatively, he is happy to work out of a space of your choosing.
What’s the difference between recording and production?
Production is about shaping the music creatively, while recording and engineering focus on capturing the performance with the highest possible quality.
Can Adrian record live sessions for full bands?
Yes. Adrian engineers both live band and overdub sessions – his speciality is working with bands who are able to “cut it live”. However, Adrian is just as comfortable working with a single vocalist or instrumentalist.
How should an artist prepare before a recording session?
Make sure your songs are arranged and rehearsed. Adrian can also arrange a pre-production session to help you get ready.
